What are Adult Mental Health Support Services?
The goal of FCSVA’s Adult Mental Health Support Services Program is to provide mental health support services and behavioral in-home support services to individuals and their families. Our services are designed to assist individuals and families in developing the necessary skills/supports to lead independent, healthy lives, as well as preserve the family unit and prevent unnecessary out-of-home as well as out-of-community placements.
What do Adult Support Services include?
Adult Mental Health Support Services include a range of supports, including: identification and assessment of individual and family needs, teaching/assisting with housekeeping and organizational skills, providing budgeting assistance, assistance in monitoring personal hygiene, assisting with grocery shopping and meal planning, developing ways to manage stress, improving social skills, identifying community resources, assisting with medication management, drop in or friendly visitor support, family support services, as well as individual and/or family counseling.
Who is eligible for Adult Support Services?
FCSVA’s Adult Mental Health Support Services are provided to adults 18 years and older who are at risk of nursing home placement, hospitalization, residential placement, homelessness or social isolation. Our services support those who are working to maintain their independence or who are in need of life skills training and on-going support due to behavioral or mental health issues. Clients must be willing to participate in service provision and/or treatment and work on a weekly basis with their counselor.
How long do sessions last?
Sessions with our adult mental health support services staff vary in length depending on the type of appointment, the needs and wants of the client/family and the counselor assigned. The counselor will create a detailed service plan in conjunction with the client/family in order to meet the goals of the client.
How long do services last?
Both short-term and long-term models of support services are offered to meet each client's individualized treatment needs. Based on each client's life circumstances and their desired outcomes, suitable treatment approaches will be discussed during the initial evaluation.
Where are adult mental health support service sessions held?
Adult support services are usually provided in the home or in the community, based on the needs and goals of the client/family. However, services can also be provided in one of our offices located in Chantilly and Woodbridge, Virginia.
What are your hours?
Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. However, we offer adult community based support services in the evenings and weekends as well. These hours vary depending on the counselor. FCSVA observes all federal holidays and is therefore closed on the following days: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday, Washington’s Birthday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
Do you accept insurance?
FCSVA accepts a variety of insurance types, including Anthem, Magellan, Aetna, and Medicaid. Please call 703-817-9890 for more information regarding additional insurance coverage and pricing. In the event that your insurance is not accepted, FCSVA accepts multiple forms of payment for services, including: VISA, MasterCard, cash and check.
